Sports Applications
Pickleball Paddles
HOTECH holds a patent for PP honeycomb core pickleball paddle construction. Our cores offer consistent cell geometry for uniform ball response, excellent energy absorption for controlled play, and zero moisture uptake for all-weather durability.
- Cell sizes: 6 mm (power) / 8 mm (touch)
- Core thickness: 10–16 mm typical
- Face sheets: carbon fiber / fiberglass CFRT
- Patented PP honeycomb paddle design
Surfboards & Water Sports
PP honeycomb core is inherently waterproof — unlike EPS or PU foam, it will never absorb water even if the outer shell is damaged. This makes it ideal for surfboards, paddleboards, and marine sports equipment.
- Zero water absorption (< 0.1%)
- Excellent impact resistance
- Lighter than PU foam alternatives
- 100% recyclable at end of life
Other Sports Equipment
Our honeycomb core and sandwich panels are used in table tennis tables, ski cores, protective equipment, gym flooring, and any application where lightweight structural strength and impact absorption matter.
- Custom cell size and density
- Thermoformable for curved shapes
- Can bond with any face material
- OEM/ODM programs available
PP Honeycomb vs Other Paddle Core Materials
How PP honeycomb core compares to the other materials commonly used in pickleball paddles and sports equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
What cell size is best for pickleball paddles?▾
For pickleball paddles, 6 mm and 8 mm cell sizes are most common. Smaller 6 mm cells provide a denser core with more power and control, while 8 mm cells offer a softer feel with better touch. HOTECH holds a patent specifically for PP honeycomb core pickleball paddle construction.
Can HOTECH supply OEM pickleball paddle cores?▾
Yes. We supply PP honeycomb core sheets pre-cut to paddle dimensions for OEM paddle manufacturers. We can customize cell size, density, thickness, and sheet dimensions to your specifications. MOQ is flexible for sampling and production orders.
What makes PP honeycomb core better than Nomex for paddles?▾
PP honeycomb core is waterproof (Nomex absorbs moisture and degrades), fully recyclable, and more cost-effective. PP offers excellent energy absorption for a controlled feel, while Nomex is stiffer and more expensive. PP is also easier to bond with carbon fiber or fiberglass face sheets using thermal lamination.
Does HOTECH make finished paddles or only core material?▾
We primarily supply the core material and composite face sheets (CFRT, carbon fiber, fiberglass). We can also produce finished sandwich panels cut to paddle shape. For complete paddle assembly including handle, edge guard, and graphics, we work with OEM partners.
Need PP Honeycomb Core for Sports Products?
Whether you're manufacturing pickleball paddles, surfboards, or other sports equipment, we can supply core materials to your exact specifications.
