03 — WHY THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITES
What the panel brings to every application.
Lighter than steel
A CKD dry freight body in PP honeycomb panels weighs about 46% less than a steel-sheet body (4.2 m: 490 vs 910 kg) — more payload, less fuel.
Water absorption
PP honeycomb does not swell, rot or delaminate when wet (ASTM D570) — unlike plywood or moisture-absorbing cores.
Recyclable polypropylene
Core and skins are thermoplastic, so panels can be recycled at the end of their service life.
W/(m·K) MPP insulation
Food-safe MPP micro-foamed panels insulate at 0.028–0.033 W/(m·K) for reefer bodies and food trucks.
